About Leah (By Chad): Leah is so sweet and caring. From the first time that we met, I knew that she was going to be a loyal friend, and ever since then, we have rarely been apart from each other. Leah loves to make family traditions, celebrate birthdays, and go out on dates, so we have a lot of fun memories. She is very kind and loving and is an exceptional mother. Sam and Leah spend a lot of time together because she is home with him most days, and she is always patient, loving and kind to Sam and me. Sam loves his mom more than anyone. He always asks for her to play and snuggles in close with her before bedtime. We love to spend time together, with friends and family but also with just the three of us. We love to take bike rides and go for walks. We both grew up with a love for boating and water sports, so we try to fit that into our summers as often as we can. We love to travel and be adventurous, and we have been on a lot of vacations together. Sam already has a Passport and used it for the first time when he was only eight months old.
Leah graduated from college with an Accounting degree and is a CPA as well. She worked in an accounting firm for almost two years and then left that job to start a non-profit Café in a ministry center. She and her mom now operate a café that serves the community. Leah works in the office, doing the accounting for the ministry center. She does this two days a week and is at home with Sam the rest of the week. Leah loves to read, play games, shop, scrapbook, and spend time with friends and family. She loves to get together with her college roommates and take Sam on play-dates with friends.
We always knew we wanted children, and we became pregnant with Sam very quickly after deciding to start our family. After Sam was born, Leah developed a condition that would make having another biological child very hard on her body. This was a difficult time for us, but we have always considered adoption to be a great option for our family, and we are so excited for this process.
We are incredibly blessed with loving and supportive families. Sam is the first grandchild on both sides, so he is very loved! On the days that Leah works, Sam spends one day with each of his grandmas. We feel so blessed that he doesn’t have to go to day care and can spend time with people that love him so much! We love to get together with our families, and do so almost every week. We like to travel together, go out for dinner, or just hang out and play games.
My Family (By Leah): I grew up in a very close Christian family. My dad has always worked full time, and my mom worked part time out of our home. She was always home to greet us after school, and we ate dinner together almost every night while I was growing up. I am the oldest of three children. My sister and I are very close and spend tons of time together. She loves Sam like he is her own, and he adores her. She is married to a great guy. My brother and I get along really well also. My grandma has a cottage where we grew up spending most weekends, and we took numerous vacations as a family.
My Family (By Chad): I grew up in a warm, Christian, and loving home. I am the oldest of four children, with two younger sisters and a brother. My family always did tons of activities together like downhill skiing, ice skating, water skiing, tubing and going for bike rides. My dad started his own company around the time that I was born. My mom was a stay-at-home mom for most of my life, and I am very close to both of my parents. My parents have supported a Sudanese refugee and her two children. The daughter, Kuni, lives with them and is like a sister to us. My parents have expected my siblings and I to work hard, do our best in school, serve others, love each other in all that we do, and honor Christ in the decisions that we make.

We live in a fairly new subdivision on a quiet street, and we love our neighborhood. We have a number of families very near our home that have become our close friends, and they all have young children. On most summer nights, you will find the men mowing the lawn or working in the yard and the women watching the children playing together. We feel that our house is in a great location – we have a big yard and live in the country, but we are not too far from town. Our area has excellent schools, and we will send our children to the same private schools that we grew up in.
The most important thing we want to pass on to our children is that they love the Lord. We want them to strive to be like Him. We want to teach our children to be honest and have integrity. We also want to teach them to be open-minded, kind, compassionate, brave, generous, loyal, and hard-working. It is also important to us that our children experience a variety of cultures and that they value diversity. We have neighbors from various backgrounds, and we believe that knowing multiple languages is important. We are already praying for the baby and birthparents that are right for our family. We are so excited to find this match and to add another child to our family. Until we had Sam, we never knew how much we could love someone else. We can’t wait to share that with our next child as well.
